The Yellow Wallpaper & Woman: Myth and Reality

The Yellow Wallpaper

So at first I thought themain character did not seem crazy at all. Reading her get nervous made me nervous and I didn't like that one bit. I felt sory for her I felt like the whole world didn't listen to what she had to say. I hate it when you know you are sick or there is something wrong with you and everyone says you are fine. It reminded me when her husband kept saying "I'm a doctor trust me," cuz doctors don't always know what they are talking about. I mean I have been prescribed things before without a doctor even taking a look at me, they just ask the symptoms and make assumptions, what if you are lying or hididng something, ugh they don't know everything and need to KNOW THAT. Anyways so I felt like the woman was been treated as inferior to her husband with language such as "bless her little heart," as if he was so much better than her. That made me mad. However the more obsessed she became with the wallpaper the more I got creeped out. First of all whoever wrote this, well Charlote Perkins Gilman,I am seriously wondering what goes through her head, actually I am too scared to know. That is some creepy thoughts. Wallpaper, whoever thought wallpaper could be so creepy. I felt so sorry for the woman and her obsession, when I pictured her in my head I just felt weird and nervous, I felt so desperate for her. I dont really undertand the ending, does her husband die, or just faint. She definetly goes crazy during this period of time, I dont think she started out too crazy but being stuck in that room had a huge impact on her, ironically to what everyone else said. Crazy story....Crazy!

Woman: Myth and Reality

Fist of all I would like to express my dislike for this woman's writing. I still don't like her. She makes women seem weak and helpless. She thinks she is better and makes men seem so powerful making them think that way too. She critizises women as if she wasn't one. She thinks she can tell us how we act and such as if we are all the same. She doesn't know everyone she is stereotyping. She describes men as adventurous and such making them sound better or something while we are said to be evil seductresses. Who is she?is she even a woman? She says "women fail to make themselves anything," so then does that mean that her being a famous author means she failed to make herself anything, oh wait I forgot she doesnt see herself as a woman. She keeps talking about the Other, women are the Other. Women are women and she needs to understand that. She explains there is no such thing as masculine mystery when in reality if I choose to think a guy is mysetrious she cant tell me that doesnt exist. She keeps stereotyping. Ok I don't like reading her stuff so I am not even going to bother explaining all the things I found wrong with it. I guess I have to respect her opinion but she needs to get her facts staright and stop stereotyping and egrading women.
